THE DELEGATION OF SENIOR LEADERS OF CHAMPASAK PROVINCE - LAOS VISITED AND WORKED AT TIN NGHIA CORPORATION

The delegation of senior leaders of Champasak province, Lao PDR visited and worked in Dong Nai province, the event was known as one of the activities to celebrate the Vietnam - Laos Solidarity and Friendship Year 2022, the 60th founding anniversary of the Vietnam – Laos diplomatic relations (September 5, 1962 - September 5, 2022) and the 45 years of the Vietnam - Laos Treaty of Amity and Cooperation (July 18, 1977 - July 18, 2022). On this occasion, the Delegation of leaders visited and worked at Tin Nghia Corporation.

On August 23, 2022, Tin Nghia Corporation solemnly welcomed Mr. Vilayvong BUDAKHAWM, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Champasak Provincial Party Committee, Governor of Champasak Province and the delegation of Champasak province at the Tin Nghia Hall.

At the meeting, the BOD of Tin Nghia Corporation introduced Tin Nghia corporation, especially the business situation of Tin Nghia - Laos Joint Stock Company, who has invested in tow coffee farms in Champasak province with a total area of up to 448ha. In addition to business activities, Tin Nghia - Laos Joint Stock Company also paid special attention to social security such as creating jobs for about 500 employees, helping people increase their income and improve their lives; strengthening more knowledge resources for the locality through granting scholarships, covering tuitions and living expenses for 39 Lao expatriate students to study at Vietnamese colleges and universities; Implementing charity programs, donating notebooks and learning tools to students at all levels of schools near the farm, contributing to creating conditions for disadvantaged children to continue to go to school; Participating in free medical examination and medicine programs for poor and disadvantaged people; Upgrading the internal transport system and local education through donation of  road repair money to Chansaovang village, contributing to repair costs, building schools in neighboring villages, sharing the construction costs of village offices 10, donating computers to Changsaovang village, etc…At the same time, Tin Nghia also proposed the Champasak provincial government to thoroughly solve the situation of people encroaching on farmlands and requested the Champasak Provincial Government to approve the extension of the lease of Paksong 1 farm for 30 years.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Vilayvong BUDAKHAWM affirmed that the contributions of Tin Nghia - Laos Joint Stock Company did contribute to enhancing the position of Paksong coffee in the top coffee in the world as well as contributing to socio - economic development of  Paksong district in particular and Champasak province in general.

He invited Tin Nghia to continue it investment in Champasak, thereby enhance the quality as well as promote the brand so that Paksong coffee continues to compete strongly in the world market. With the proposal to extend the land lease for 30 years, he is likely to approve, however Tin Nghia shall also submit documentation for its 30 year business operation project.

Regarding the proposal to solve the problem of people encroaching on farmland, he affirmed his working with relevant departments of the local government to find out detailed information and jointly solve it in the most appropriate direction.

The meeting ended in the air of friendship. The delegation of senior leaders of Champasak province left Tin Nghia Corporation and continued their visiting in Dong Nai province.

“Champasak is a province in southwestern Laos with an area of 15,415 km², adjacent to the border with Thailand and Cambodia, the province's economy is mainly based on agricultural products, especially coffee.

The two farms that Tin Nghia - Laos Joint Stock Company are investing in Paksong District, Champasak Province, located on the Bolaven plateau with an altitude of 1,000 to 1,350 meters above sea level, where nature is endowed with a temperate climate, regular rainfall, fertile land is very suitable for coffee.

 Paksong 1 Farm: There is an area of 319 ha, of which 277 ha are planted with coffee trees, the remaining 42 ha are roads, contours and wetlands that cannot grow coffee.

 Paksong 2 Farm: There is an area of 219 ha, of which 82 ha are planted with coffee trees, the remaining 47 hectares are roads, contours and rocky hills that cannot grown coffee”
